As a Connecticut Baby Photographer, I have the pleasure of meeting families with new babies every day. Not only do I love being a newborn photographer, but I also love photographing babies of all ages and capturing all the baby milestones from pushing up, sitting up, standing up through to their first birthday. As quick as the newborn stage passes so do all the different stages of the baby milestones, and it’s so important not to miss capturing those major milestones and details either. Marianne and Matt are beloved long-time clients of Melissa Hartigan Photography since the early days of being parents to their first baby, a boy, Braeden. I have done many photography sessions with them capturing all of their precious moments and memories from Braeden’s newborn, sitter, one year, multiple santa sessions; Marianne’s maternity session while expecting their baby girl, Kelly, newborn as well as fresh48 and now to Kelly’s One Year session.

Kelly was a darling little baby girl when I saw her for her milestone session. She had the sweetest baby smiles accompanied by the cutest little baby giggles, that were so infectious that I was giggling. Baby Kelly couldn’t help herself when she saw her tasty cake that she got to dig into and make a mess with. Cake smash sessions are so fun to capture. They are fun for parents to watch their baby curiously get into the cake, fun for me to capture and so much fun for babies to smash into. With all One Year Cake Smash sessions I recommend Custom Cakes by Carrie. Carries cakes are amazing and she will deliver them to the studio the day of the session. I always have mom contact her and they work out all of the details on flavor, colors and design.

As a baby milestone and family photographer in Connecticut, I get the pleasure of meeting new families with new babies every day. Not only do I love being a newborn baby photographer, but I also love photographing babies of all ages and capturing all the baby milestones from pushing up, sitting up, standing up, their first birthday milestone, and all the baby details like first baby teeth and the adorable toothy grins. As quick as the newborn stage passes, so does baby’s first year and all the different stages of the baby milestones. It’s so important not to miss capturing those major milestones and details either.

When it comes to studio outfits and setups, I am always adding beautiful new knitted and handmade props to my studio baby and child prop collection.  Melissa Hartigan Photography clients always have access to these props for their newborn sessions as well as baby milestone sessions. You don’t need to worry about bringing anything for your session except yourselves and your happy baby ready to have their picture taken. Props are always pre-selected based off the color choices that you choose prior to your session. Custom set-ups are then designed around your color choices. Everything is always prepared and ready to begin once you arrive for your baby milestone session. During cake smash sessions, we always start with outfits borrowed from the MHP client wardrobe closet which is available to all clients. Then, we move onto the cake smash portion where my littlest clients change into an outfit that is parent provided and we begin capturing all the fun stuff that babies and parents love.

Here are some of my favorite vendors for baby props and outfits that I frequently use in my milestone sessions: Little Bean Creations,  Roses and Ruffles,  Red Owl Photo Props and  Pooks and Lulu. The little blue sitter outfit that Kelly is wearing is from No. 2 Willow Lane.
